As mysteriously as my problem with not receiving notifications started, it has now disappeared.
Code gremlins…grrrr…
I’m happy to report that everything appears to be back to normal!
Tags: TutorialsI’ve become aware of a problem with the automated download emails which are sent out when a tutorial is purchased.
At the moment I’m not receiving notifications of purchases and the download emails do not appear to be getting through to the purchasers.
I’m working with the code developer to resolve the issue. In the meantime, if you have purchased a tutorial from me and don’t receive a download link via email within 24 hours, please contact me via tutorders @ wrapturewirejewellery.on.ca. I’m still able to send links manually. Tutorials are still available through my Etsy shop.
Thank you for your patience! I’ll do my best to get everything back to normal as soon as possible!
Tags: downloads, tutorialFor people who don’t have pierced ears, finding handmade earrings they can wear is a real challenge. Back when I did shows, I’d occasionally get requests for clip-on findings, and lost sales because I didn’t have them. Commercial findings were not an option for the types of shows I was doing.
So when, about a year ago, someone posted a message to one of the forums I’m on asking if there was a pattern for clip-ons, I thought “What a great idea!”. I got out an old pair of my mom’s clip-ons and studied them to figure out a way to make a pair in wire. And today I’m very pleased to announce the release of a new tutorial – Clip-on Earrings!

The Clip-on Earrings tutorial includes two variations: Variation 1 makes a basic spiral, with a loop for adding a dangle. Variation 2 forms a base on which you can add your own embellishment, so if you have a favourite bead, or button, you can add it. Variation 2 also has a loop for adding a dangle.

I’m pleased to announce that my newest tutorial, Art Nouveau Bangle, is now available!
This bangle features lovely flowing curves and Celtic elements that were common in the Art Nouveau period.
The project was a big hit with my students at the Haliburton School of the Arts! Once you have the basic technique down, you can easily adapt the design and let your creativity flow to create your own variations!

I’ll have limited access to a computer over the next two weeks while I’m in Haliburton. If you purchase a tutorial and have trouble with the download, you can still drop me a note. There may be a small delay in replying, but I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
The Caged Heart Grows Cold or Portrait of the Artist circa 1998 (2009)
Bare copper, polymer coated copper, wool
Constructed, needle-felted
Pendant: L 7.5 cm x W 4.2 cm; Neckwire: L 45 cm
I’ve been debating with myself for three weeks about what and how much to write about this week’s entry. I made the felted heart in week 2, but then discovered that studio gremlins had made off with my copper wire… I finally found a small spool of it last week, so was able to start work on the project. The gremlins are refusing to let go of the rest, though, so this is the last copper piece I’m going to be making for the time being.
I spent a lot of time during my hiatus meditating on the direction I should go with my jewellery. Time and time again I’ve gotten the message that my jewellery needs to connect with the spirit, and express more of my inner voice.
So, my piece this week speaks from a very personal perspective. The very long story behind it is one that only my very closest friends have known about before now.

While having to be glued to the computer yesterday wasn’t exactly fun, I’m very pleased about the response to the new tutorial. Thank you!
The website is now back online and running smoothly.
I’m receiving emails that people are getting error messages when they try to use the discount coupon I sent out. In addition to this glitch, my email program is jammed, so it may take some time to contact people directly with the fix. If you have tried to use the coupon and have had a problem, please send me a quick note to let me know, and I’ll forward the link to the file manually until I figure out what’s gone wrong.
Sorry for the problems, and I’ll hopefully get everything straighten out shortly! I appreciate your patience!
