Wire Jewellery
Dates: July 29-August 2, 2013, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (Monday to Friday – 47.5 hours)

Please note: This course requires extensive use of hand tools (wire cutters, pliers) and a healthy level of manual dexterity.
Start with the basics and learn to create and design your own jewellery using wire. Go from traditional wire wrapping techniques to original, free-form methods, or something in between. Emphasis will be based on creating pieces that reflect your individuality and personal tastes. No soldering is required and you will have the opportunity to incorporate beads, stones, and found objects to make your own unique designs. Basic hand tools and the use of some interesting tricks will enable you to continue upon completion of the course. Personal style and creativity will be encouraged in a relaxed atmosphere.
Note: There will be an $85 material fee payable to the instructor. The kit includes copper wire – if you would prefer to use sterling silver, please contact the instructor at least 3 weeks prior to the start date for separate pricing.

Classes for Winter 2013
George Brown College
Chain Making
Dates: May 25-June 1, 2012 (two consecutive Saturdays), 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Hours: 10
Learn to construct a variety of chain types using copper or silver. Learn flat, round, king’s, queen’s and chainmail chains.
Note(s):
You will be required to provide your own silver. (Silver is available for sale from the teacher.)Fee: $192.00, excludes silver (but it may be purchased from the instructor)
